It's my first venture into home recording and self-production. At the time I was in the 11th grade, and I'd work weekends and some weeknights in cover bands around Sarasota County. I didn't have a laptop or recording software, and wasn't interested in learning to use either yet, so I used money from gigs to buy the Tascam. I remember I had an old Gibson LG-0, a cheap Johnson dreadnaught, a Les Paul Studio with a Bigsby Vibrato, a Fender Mexican J-Bass, and an unbranded 12-string acoustic with the fattest neck I've ever seen. The electric guitar was played through a Marshall with the volume off, with a line running directly to the 8-track and monitored through headphones. Its possible there's some bass work by Jack Berry on a couple songs, because the bass sounds like a fretless (which he was committed to at the time) but I'm really not sure. After a while the Tascam got corrupted and stopped working. I burned CDs and would listen to myself on a portable CD player during my lunch break, and the first thing I did when I got home from school most days was dive into writing or recording something. A few friends heard these songs off my CD player, but I never uploaded them online, so this will be the first time they're available publicly.
